About the author

Rubén Aviña, originally from Mexico City, began his career as an entertainment journalist at the age of 14, when he conducted his first interview with Spanish actress and singer Marisol (Pepa Flores). From then on, he worked as a reporter for different publications and later studied journalism. He became director and editor of several entertainment magazines, such as «Jet Set», «Estrellas» and «CloseUp», and also worked as a writer for theater and television, in programs such as «XETU» and «Elizabeth en escena», for Televisa.

To date, he has published five books, the first four related to show business personalities: «Cómo se hace una estrella» (1994), «Yuridia detrás de Yuri» (1995), «Magia y desencanto» (1997) and «La gloria por el infierno» (1998), a best seller -with more than 500 thousand copies sold- that unleashed the Trevi-Andrade scandal. According to an investigation and an article published in the Reforma newspaper (Mexico City), «La gloria por el infierno» tops the list of the 10 best-selling show business books.

After the success of «La gloria por el infierno», Rubén started his career in the novel genre when, in 2004 and independently, he published «Nadine, la hija de las estrellas», a magical story (in the fantasy literature genre) that he began writing when he was 12 years old. A book that, to date, has sold more than 120,000 copies in Mexico, the United States, Central and South America.

In 2021, by unanimous decision of the jury, he received the National Pastorela Prize, awarded every year by the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, with the work «Donde hay ángeles, hay diablos».

In 2023, after 25 years in circulation, a new edition of «La gloria por el infierno» is published, now also in ebook version, on the Amazon platform, becoming the #1 best seller in a few weeks, among millions of books from all over the world.

In 2024, he released his seventh book, a biographical novel entitled «Canciones por hacer» (Songs to be made), his first book published simultaneously in English and Spanish by Ibukku, with distribution in the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Spain, and 38 other countries in Europe, Africa, Japan and Asia.
